Notice of Statewide Primary Election – February 18, 2025:   There will be a statewide Primary election on February 18, 2025 for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.  There may be a County-wide election for a Judge position - information is pending on that office.  (The local Town Board election is on April 1, 2025)   Residents may apply for an absentee ballot on myvote.wi.gov.    Be prepared to have a copy of your Wisconsin Driver's License or State ID to scan in when you apply online.  Absentee voting in person in the Town Hall begins on February 4, 2025.  Please see specific dates and times on the notice below.   NOTICE VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT – FEBRUARY 18, 2025  Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may submit a request to vote an absentee ballot to their municipal clerk. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen who: will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day and has resided in the ward or municipality where they wish to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered to vote to receive an absentee ballot. Proof of identification must be provided before an absentee ballot may be issued.* Refer to www.myvote.wi.gov for more information.   Making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail Contact your municipal clerk and request that an application for an absentee ballot be sent to you for the primary or election or both. You may make written application to your municipal clerk for an absentee ballot in person, by mail, by fax, by email or at MyVote.wi.gov. Your written request must include: your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address where the absentee ballot should be sent, if different from the address above, your signature and copy of your photo identification*. Refer to www.myvote.wi.gov for more information   The deadline for making application to receive an absentee ballot by mail is: 5:00 p.m. Thursday February 13, 2025.   *Voters who are indefinitely confined due to age, illness, infirmity, or disability may not be required to provide photo ID. If this applies to you, contact the municipal clerk regarding deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot. **Special absentee voting application provisions apply to electors who are indefinitely confined, in the military, hospitalized, or serving as a sequestered juror. The last day to vote an absentee ballot in the clerk's office is: Friday, February 14th, 2025. No in-person absentee voting may occur on the day before the election. The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before Election Day to the proper polling place or counting location before the polls close on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.  Any ballots received after the polls close will not be counted. The Town Board meets the second Monday of the month at 6:00 pm at the Town Hall or Town Municipal Airport Garage, located at W1125 State Hwy 106 (by the airport), notices are posted at the Town Hall and online at the Town’s website –townofpalmyrawisconsin.com.

Badgerland Disposal: Collection of household trash each Wednesday and recyclables every other Wednesday.  The cost for this appears as a special assessment on your tax bill. If you have questions or want to make arrangements for pick-up of large items or appliances, call Badgerland Disposal at (608-580-0580). If you need an extra recycling bin you can call Badgerland Disposal.

Clerk Hours at Town Hall for Collection of Taxes

Friday December 17, 2021 from 3pm-6pm, Tuesday, Dec 28 2021 from 10am-2pm, and Wednesday Jan. 26, 2022 from 3pm-6pm or by appointment, call 262-495-2049.  Please leave a detailed message with your name, number and date and time for the appointment.

To pay in person, you may go to the Town Hall at the above times. Taxes and Dog Licenses will also be accepted by mail or a deposit box is located at the Town Hall located at W1125 St Hwy. 106.  Checks may also be mailed to Town of Palmyra PO Box 519, Palmyra, WI 53156. Your tax receipt or dog licenses and rabies certificates will be mailed to you.

——————————————————————————————————————Dog License – All dogs kept in the Town of Palmyra must be licensed annually. Licenses purchased after March 31st must add an additional fee of $10.00. Enclose your check and rabies certificate and return with the bottom portion of this letter. The rabies certificate will be returned with the license.    

*Dogs cannot be licensed without current Rabies Certificate*
