Town Board members Rob Martens and Frank Sauter are hosting this event for residents to ask questions regarding their candidacy for Town Board. A quorum of Town of Palmyra Board members will be present. However, this is not a Town Board meeting, and no official business will be conducted, nor will any formal action be taken by the Town Board. Question: My question to the board is where are we at with regards to the EMS/FIRE contract? A lot of citizens are very concerned about their safety. I checked with my home owners insurance and was told my premiums would DOUBLE if the fire station is more than 5 miles from my home
Answer: We are currently covered under a contract with the Village of Palmyra Fire Department. However, there are residents in the Town of Palmyra who are more than 5 miles from the fire station.
