Notice of Election – November 3, 2026:   Notice of Location and Hours of Polling Place At the 2026 General Election, to be held on November 3, 2026, in the Town of Palmyra, the following polling place locations will be used for the wards indicated:                            Location                                                                              Wards                PALMYRA TOWN Hall                                                         Wards 1 and 2                    W1125 HWY 106  Offices to be voted on:  Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, Representative in Congress District 5, State Senator District 33, Representative to Assembly District 97, Jefferson County Sheriff, and Jefferson County Clerk of Court.  Ballot also includes several referenda, namely, 1) Partial Veto referendum; 2) Freedom to gather in places of worship during an emergency referendum; 3) and Governmental entity discrimination prohibited.  Both Fort Atkinson and Palmyra-Eagle School Districts have proposed revenue limit exceedance requests.             All polling places will open at 7:00 A.M. and will close at 8:00 P.M. Board of Review Alternate Members Ordinance Adopted

 

 

STATE OF WISCONSIN   TOWN OF PALMYRA    JEFFERSON COUNTY

Ordinance No. 2026-03 – BOARD OF REVIEW ALTERNATE MEMBER(S)

WHEREAS, Section 70.47(6m)(c), Wis. Stats., authorizes the appointment of alternate members to serve on the Board of Review when standing members are removed from individual cases:

NOW THEREFORE, the Town Board of Palmyra, Jefferson County, does ordain as follows:

Pursuant to Section 70.47 (6m)(c) and 70.46 (1) of Wis. Statutes, the Town Board hereby provides for the appointment of alternates to serve on the town board of review in the event a standing board member of the board of lawfully removed or recused under Wis. Stat. § 70.47(6m)(a) or (b).

  1. MANNER OF APPOINTMENT

The Town Board shall maintain a public list of persons appointed to serve as alternate members of the Board of Review, arranged in priority order. Upon the lawful removal or recusal of a Board of Review member under Wis. Stat. § 70.47(6m)(a) or (b), the Town Clerk shall notify the removed or recused member and then notify the next available alternate of the appointment. Before serving, the alternate shall accept the appointment, confirm that service would not violate Wis. Stat. § 19.59, and take the official oath of office.

 

  1. APPOINTMENTS

The following electors of the Town of Palmyra are hereby named as alternates in the order indicated to serve as alternate board of review members:

     Alternate 1: Dawn Sauter

     EFFECTIVE DATE.

This ordinance shall apply to the 2026 Board of Review.  It shall take effect the day after publication or posting pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 60.80. The Town Clerk shall publish or post this ordinance as required by law.

Ordinance introduced by Board Member Gajewski who moved its adoption.  Seconded by Board Member Montgomery.  AYES:  Gajewski, Lean, Montgomery.  NOES:  None.  ABSENT:  None.

Passed on the 14th day of September, 2026 on a 3 – 0 vote by the Town Board of the Town of Palmyra.
