    Jefferson County to Host Household Electronics and Appliance Recycling Event on June 13

The Jefferson County Solid Waste Program will hold a household Electronics and Appliance Recycling Event on Saturday, June 13 from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Mills Light & Water Department (155 Industrial Dr., Lake Mills). This event is open to all Jefferson County households.

You do not need to register for the event! Come to the Lake Mills Light & Water Department between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m.; we will assist customers on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost is $10 per vehicle (cash only).

Note: Depending upon turnout, gates may close earlier than 11:00 a.m.

Acceptable electronics:

Computers (desktop, laptop, and notebook); computer accessories (keyboards, mice, hard drives, scanners, speakers, and other devices); monitors; TVs; DVDs; VCRs; fax machines; stereos; calculators; iPads; camcorders; shredders; tablets; cameras; copiers; game consoles; e-readers; electric motors; modems; printers (desktops, 3-D, and combos); handheld electronics; microwaves; cellphones; adding machines; vacuums; scanners; monitors; toasters

Acceptable appliances:

Refrigerators (mini and regular); freezers (chest and upright); dishwashers; air conditioners; water heaters; dehumidifiers

If possible, please remove all batteries prior to recycling.

Items not accepted:

Smoke detectors; fluorescent bulbs; batteries; fans; coffee makers; blenders; hazardous waste; latex paint; unused prescription drugs
